It All Started With a Tiny Seed of Dream

I closed all the open windows on my laptop. Then, I stand up and walked outside my office to do some stretching. I inhaled the cool night air and listened to the sounds of the crickets.

I placed my two hands on my neck and gently massaged it. I found my fingers made way to my hair. I just closed my eyes.

“This is it, Myryl. No more excuses.”

A Dream to Fulfill

I love to write. Ever since I started journaling at the age of 12, I knew right then and there that it’s gonna be an activity that I am going to enjoy until I die. But I mostly write for my own pleasure, not for the public eye.

Working in the tech industry opened my eyes to have blogging aligns to my love for writing. In fact, it has been in my annual plan for the past five or six years.

You can scorn all you want but yes I am guilty of procrastinating.

Why wait for such a long time to fulfill your dream?

I am not asking myself.

I am asking YOU.

We all have dreams to fulfill. But because we spend too much of our waking time either doing our responsibilities or dilly-dallying for silly reasons, we usually place our dreams in empty shoeboxes and hide them somewhere where it won’t see the daylight.

That is probably why dream during our sleep. Our dreams visit us during our sleep hoping that we can remember them.

Breaking Free

This is me finally breaking free! I have the power to fulfill my dreams, no matter how small or irrelevant it is to other people.

Someday, I would read this post again and I would thank myself for starting this blogging project even though I only have a few minutes to write this post.

The first step is always difficult. Rocket ships need a great amount of energy to escape the Earth’s gravity. Seeds or wildlings need to be sown before forests appear. Planning is an arduous task but it is important for the success of a project.

So what kind of topics do I want to write?

Honestly, I don’t have an exact answer. I am thinking of writing about happiness because I am a huge fan of Gretchen Rubin. Or maybe about digital marketing? Or maybe I can write about how I homeschool my six-year-old daughter? Or how to properly raise twins without going crazy?

Wherever this would lead to, it would expose much of my life. And that’s something that I am scared about because I do not want my choices to be judged by other people.

Nah! I bet my husband will be the only one who will read this blog so why worry about that now?

Heading to the Right Direction

Whoever you are, thank you for taking the time to read my blog! I know my first entry is more like a rant and probably not something where you can pick something useful. I cannot promise anything to you now except that I am going to write twice or thrice a week.

There! I put it out to the world to care!

I am making time for my dream. Two or three hours a week is as much as the same amount of time that I would do mindless surfing over the internet.

How about you? Do you have a dream that you want to fulfill but never find a time to do so? If yes, please leave me a message below and we can talk a bit about it.
